Our Fundraisers and Activities
The Santa Clara Women’s League was founded in 1983 when funding for the Senior Center Health & Wellness Program was in jeopardy. A group of Santa Clara women started raising funds for the Program by putting on an old-fashioned melodrama, SHOWTIME. In March of each year, that tradition continues and the Santa Clara Women’s League is the primary sponsor. We gather donations, produce and sell tickets, and volunteer at the two performances. All of this takes many dedicated and hardworking women who want to serve their community.
COMING THIS MARCH Showtime 2025
Show your support for the Programs here at SC Senior Center by attending Showtime 2025 on March 1 and 2. Showtime features local talent performing an old-fashioned melodrama, olio acts (singers, dancers and more), delicious food and drink, fantastic cash prizes and Opportunity Baskets to win. This year’s melodrama is entitled “Saga of the Sarsparilla Saloon” or “Tale of the Tainted Tonic.” All of this is organized and run by volunteer members of the Santa Clara Women’s League whose goal is to raise funds for Senior Center Program such as Health and Wellness program and Senior Nutrition. Showtime performances will be at the Community Recreation Center (CRC), 969 Kiely Blvd. – 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 1 or 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 2. Admission tickets are only $10 for adults and $5 for children. Tickets are available at the door or from our SHOWTIME page. Hope to see you in March as you enjoy a terrific show that appeals to everyone – ages 4 to 94!
